Abstract With the change of New Zealand's domestic economic structure, relevantchange was taken in forestry organization. Its role in scientific research and extensionwas enhanced in the following aspects: (l)promoting the combination of scientificresearch and production ' raising the feasibility of scientific achievement ; (2)promotingthe simplifying of interior structure , raising the utilization ratio of funds i (3) encouraging scientists to go to fields to propagate and extend scientific research achievements;(4i encouraging employees to attend training, raising the level of scientific andtechnological achievement application .
