抗战前期,国民党敌后根据地风起云涌,主要原因是日军无暇顾及,国民党顺应了全民族抗战潮流的发展,国共两党的关系比较融洽,国民党对其敌后根据地苦心经营等。但其大多数根据地没能坚持到抗战胜利,这是因为国民党不具备坚强的抗战领导核心,缺乏团结全民抗战的凝聚力,军队也不能成为强有力的力量支柱,根据地政权不够稳固。
