抗战时期湖北省政府被迫西迁至恩施土家族苗族地区,在此建立了比较完善的教育体系,培养了大批人才,改变了民族地区思想文化落后的面貌,一定程度上促进了民族地区文化教育的发展。

During the War of Resistance Against Japan, Hubei Provincial government was compelled to move westwardly to Enshi, where the Miaozu dwellers reside in, and built up the more perfect education system there, which was beneficial to bring up large quantity of talented persons and changed the feature of the region and promoted the educational development of the cultural of the minority nationality region to a certain extent.
