On Globalization and Chinese Modern Literature Research

全球化问题主要是文化问题,文化多元主义是当代全球状况的一个构成特征。一个多世纪以来,中国知识分子一直在探讨中国文化的命运问题。中国现代文学是在民族危亡和中西文化碰撞中发生的,现代文学的这种发生语境决定了现代文学研究和文化研究有着密切关系,其具体表现和发展趋势主要有两点,一是对文学进行文化批评,一是文学研究走向文化研究。

The issues of globalization are mainly those of cultures. Cultural pluralism is a characteristic of contemporary global situation. For more than one century, Chinese intellects have been exploring the fate of Chinese culture. Chinese modem literature originated from Chinese national peril and the collision between Chinese culture and Western culture. The background of Chinese modem literature determined the close relationship between the research of modem literature and modem culture. Their minute representation and developing tendency are mainly concluded into two points： Ⅰ. cultural criticism to literature; Ⅱ. from literary research to cultural research.
