An Analysis of the Sustainable Development of University Libraries in the 21st Century

可持续发展作为一个理论体系已逐步向社会、经济等各个领域渗透,高校图书馆也应坚持可持续发展观。可持续发展观要求高校图书馆正确定位、科学管理、合理保存和利用信息资源并做到资源共享、满足用户信息需求。高校图书馆要实现可持续发展必须做到以下几点:管理创新;加强计算机网络和数据库建设;诚实守信,全心全意为读者服务;以人为本,开发人力资源。

As a theory, the concept of sustainable development has been widely accepted in the 21st century. It should also be adopted into the management of university libraries. This concept requires the library of a right orientation, scientific management and reasonable storage, use and share of information resources to satisfy the needs of all the users. The following steps should be taken to achieve sustainable development ： making innovations in management, strengthening the construction of the computer network and the data-base, serving the readers faithfully and warmheartedly and being people oriented in exploiting the human resources.
