During the Malaysian Culture Week co inciding with the 22nd Weifang International Kite Festival, Dr. Mahathir Mohamad, former prime minister of Malaysia, visited Weifang. The Malaysian Culture Week was comprised of exhibitions of photographs and art objects, as well as theatrical performances, displays of folk customs, traditional garments, and the preparation and serving of traditional Malavsian cuisine.
