Population Modernization in Anhui Province: Evaluations and Countermeasures

人口现代化是现代化的重要组成部分。人口现代化主要包括人口再生产类型现代化、人口素质现代化和人口结构现代化。根据第五次人口普查资料分析,2000年安徽省人口现代化实现程度为48.08%。因此在新时期,安徽必须继续稳定低生育水平,优先发展教育,提高城市化水平,建立健全社会保障体系,努力加快人口现代化进程,为全面推进安徽现代化建设创造良好的人口环境。

An important part of social modernization, the modernization of population involves modernization in population reproduction, population quality and population structure. According to the results of the fifth census in China, the modernization of population in Anhui has reached 48.08%. In order to create a favorable population environment for the modernization construction of Anhui province, we must maintain low fertility level, prioritize the development of education, increase the level of urbanization, build up better social and welfare services, and boost therefore the process of population modernization in Anhui.
