整体理论对大英阅读教学的启示及其应用

摘要 本文讨论整体观的大学英语阅读课教学,强调英语语篇的阅读应从篇章整体出发,把各种语言单位及其提供的信息置于整体语篇中去理解,并注意语篇各个部分的相互关联。语篇整体阅读的具体模式为:预测语篇大意;抓主题句或主题段的意义;获取关键词语及其所含的信息;推知语境中的词句意义。整体观的阅读可帮助阅读者较快地掌握语篇的多层含义,提高信息获取的速度和质量。 This paper discusses integrated language approach used in teaching College English reading, and emphasizes that we should departure from the whole text, understand all kinds of language units and their supporting information in holistic text, and pay much attention to the relationship of each part of the text when we are reading English text. The concrete model of integrated whole language approach—predicting the general idea of the text, finding the meanings of topic sentences or topic paragraphs, extracting important words and their information, and deducing meanings of words and sentences of the context. Readers can grasp meanings of the text from multi-aspects quickly, and improve speed and quality of gaining information.
