Parenthesis is one the most protruding features of EST. As an effective feature, however, it brings together many difficulties for readers to understand Because of the special order in the sentence. It is therefore extremely necessary to identify parenthesis in EST. The current paper first states the scope of the research and then discusses the four grammatical functions of parenthesis, The ways of translating it are thoroughly investigated in the end.
