This paper expounds the connotation, significance and operation mechanism of the humanistic service, and puts forward some concrete methods and suggestions for carrying out the humanistic service from aspects of the regulations and systems, ethics construction, readers' right, readers' information feedback, individualized service, librarians' quality, and the reading environment, etc.
