Surrounding rocks classification plays a determinative role in the design and construction of tunnels, The advanced classification model presented in this paper applies the fuzzy theory to make the evaluating index quantification and adopts the Dilphi method with degree of reliance when the weights of evaluating factors are determined, By this means, the deflection caused by subjective judgement is effectively reduced.
