Metacognitive ability plays important role in the improvement medical students＇ clinical practice. To foster medical students＇ metacognitive ability in the course of clinical practice, we must enrich their metacognitive knowledge, intensify their metacognitive experience and strengthen their metacognitive monitoring. There is no doubt that the students will become independent learners who have creative ability by promoting metacognitive ability.
