Diabetes mellitus and intraocular lens implantation.

糖尿病性白内障行囊外摘出联合后房型人工晶体植入术37例39眼,以45例51眼非糖尿病性白内障作为对照.最终视力糖尿病眼87.2%≥0.5,非糖尿病眼92.2%≥0.5,两组无显著性差异(P>0.05).术后糖尿病眼有17.9%糖尿病性视网膜病变有所发展.糖尿病眼术后眼前段并发症发生率明显高于非糖尿病眼,尽管如此,只要早期发现,合理治疗,结果仍是好的.

Prospetive evaluation of extracapsular cataract extraction with posterior chamber intraocular lens (EC-CE with PC-IOL) in 39 eyes of 37 diabetic patients, with and without nonproliferative retinopathy, and 51 eyes of 45 nondiabetic patients. A postoperative final visual acuity of 0. 5 or better in 87. 2% of diabetic eyes and 92. 2% of nondiabetic eyes,a difference that was not statistically significant (P < 0. 05). We showed progression of diabetic retinopathy following cataract surgery in 17. 9% of the operated eyes of diabetic patients. The incidence of postoperative anterior segment comptications was significantly higher in the diabetic than in the nondiabetic patients. As long as such com-plications are recognized early and treated promptly, the final results will be satisfactory.
