A Few Words on Artistic Fiction and the Reality of Character

艺术虚构是作家根据生活中存在的事物和生活固有的逻辑,通过想象,以构成艺术形象。艺术虚构必须以生活为基础,既源于生活,又高于生活。作为观念形态的文学作品不是对真实人物的机械摹仿、简单再现,而是社会生活在作家头脑中的能动的反映,是经过作家的选择、集中、想象、虚构等艺术加工的创造性的反映。

Artistic fiction is the geme that is created by the author according to the real life. It must be based on real life; this is to say ,it is clipped from life,but not so mediocre as everything in life. Artistic fiction,as a kind of idealistic literature,is neither a wooden copy of life,nor a simple reappearance of it. It is an active reflection in the author＇s mind.
