摘要
世纪之交的民国叙事抛却展现社会风貌和历史图式的固定层次,而专注于展示与传递个体的存在状态:人是被历史拨弄的无能为力的对象。这样作家就把历史感作为一种纯粹的修辞手段,纳入自己的整个艺术框架,从而使民国时代在小说中的出现变成了一个美学上的问题。但这种转变也使民国时代的社会形态和精神特质从文本中悄然隐退。
At the turn of the 20th century, Chinese novelists, abandoning the staid model representing soeial manners and styles and historieal schemata, have eoneemed themselves with the eireumstanees of individual existenee, namely, the fact that man is nothing but a powerless ereature in the manipulation of history. Thus, with the sense of history as mere means of rhetorie, they have integrated it into the framework of their artistie works and brought about an esthetie issue of the representation of the period of the “Republic” (“Minguo”) in their fietion. However, this has, at the same time, caused the social form and spirit of that period disappear from their texts.
