Instead, theorists of the mainstream IR theory have taken a negative attitude towards the Dependency Theory. As one of the three theoretical branches of the IPE, the influence of Dependency Theory on the study of international relations lies in its visual angle of non - Western center and its highly concern over the underdevelopment problems, the Dependency Theory has also affected the foreign policies of the Latin American countries.
