When the clock rang through a big loudspeaker at 12 o'clock on 15 August 2005, it was very quiet at the Yasukuni Shrine, Tokyo. Most of the prayers lowered their head to the direction of the big hall. That did not mean confession. What have been the cultural and political bolsters of this nation that wouldn't confess for their war sin? We believe that only through looking closely at Japan, we could understand and treat Japan prop- erly-emotional doesn't make any sense.
