摘要
委婉语既是一种语言现象,也是一种社会现象和文化现象,是特定社会和文化的一面镜子。本文从英汉委婉语的起源、社会价值取向和表现手法等几个方面对英汉两种委婉语进行了对比研究。
Euphemism is not only a language phenomenon, but also a social and cultural phenomenon. It is a mirror of a particular society. This paper makes a comparative study of the cultural differences between English and Chinese euphemism from its origin, value and the way of its formation.
