The stacking interactions of aromatic rings in the Cu￣(2+)-bpy-PCA￣-system(bpy=2,2'-bipyridyl,PCA=phenylcarboxylic acid) have been studied by extraction method in perchloric acid medium.The content of the stacked isomers of the extracted species[Cu(bPy)(PCA)(H_2O)]￣+ increases in the order:Bz￣-<PAc￣-PPr￣-<PBu￣-.The composition of complexes has been determined by slope method and elemental analysis.
