On the Fundamentals and Incidentals in Economic Philosophy of Pre-Qin Philosophers

尽管先秦时期“农本工商末”思想根深蒂固,影响深远,但“重本抑末”思想的流变如行云穿梭,诸子各派从各自的世界观出发,各抒己见,赋予了其不同的内涵,深深地打上了诸子各派经济哲学思想的时代烙印。如老庄的“道”本论,孔孟的“义”本论,墨子的“爱”本论,《商君书》的“农”本论等等,无不蕴涵着丰富的经济哲学思想。因此,考究先秦诸子经济哲学思想之本末论,对于研究先秦的经济哲学思想,挖掘、开发其合理的成分,古为今用,仍然意义深远。

Although the ideology of “emphasis on agriculture at the expense of industry and commerce” was deep-rooted and had far - reaching influence in the Pre-Qin Period, the ideology of “emphasis on the fundamentals at the expense of the inci- dentals” experienced evolution. Philosophers, proceeding from their respective world outlook, aired their own views and endowed it with different connotations, deeply influenced by their economic philosophy. Examples included Zhuang Zhou＇ s “moral” -oriented ideology, Confucius and Mencius＇ “justice” -oriented ideology, Mohist “love” -oriented ideology and “agriculture”-oriented ideology in Book of Lord Shang and they were all rich in economic philosophy. Therefore, studying the fundamentals and incidentals in economic philosophy of Pre-Qin philosophers still have profound significance for studying Pre-Qin economic philosophy and tapping its rational component.
