雪域高原的召唤——记参加青藏高原地质大调查的中华儿女们

摘要 青藏高原有“世界屋脊”之称,又被称为“地球第三极”,她是地球上最年轻的一块广袤大陆。青藏高原有多广阔?总面积257万平方公里,最高的山脉喜马拉雅山平均海拔7000米以上,世界第一高峰珠穆朗玛海拔8848.13米,超过8000米的高峰有16座,青藏高原是“山的海洋、冰的世界、雪的故乡”。由于高寒、荒凉、生存状态恶劣,成为人类最后认识的一块大陆。作为一个独特的地质构造单元,她不仅蕴含着巨大的地质学意义,而且还孕育了丰富的矿产资源。青藏高原作为中华版图的一方热土,我们最需要了解她。1999年,中国政府做出决定,由地质矿产部、中国地质调查局实施青藏高原地质大调查,组织有8000余名地质精英参与的65支地质调查队,在高山耸云、峡谷横列、冰封雪掩的青藏高原开展了人类有史以来最艰苦、获得成果最丰富,也是最伟大的创举——中国青藏高原地质大调查……六年的时光,两千多个日日夜夜,一支优秀的中华儿女用他们辛勤汗水,甚至鲜血,书写了一页页、一章章的精彩、壮丽和感动。 Qinghai-Tibet Plateau, dubbed the World Ridge and the Third Pole on the Globeis famous for such a peculiar geological tectonic unit, which not only has a greatsignificance on geology, but also is rich in mineral resources. In 1999, a projectof regional geological survey at the scale of 1:250000 in the Areas of Qinghai-TibetPlateau, where without geological mapping before, was started , which was organizedby Ministry of Mineral Resources and China Geological Survey, and was carried out by65 geological surveying teams with more than 8000 geological workers. Qinghai-TibetPlateau has the highest mountains in the world Mount Qomolangma 8,848.13 meters, hasthe deepest canyon in the world Yarlung Zangbo River Great Canyon with a total depth5,382 meters, and there are 16 peaks of over 8000 meters. In such a hard situationwith cold, desolated and sparse oxygen conditions, through 6 years hard work, thesegeological workers have written a series of moving stories with their sweat and evenblood. During the on-the-spot inspection on the project of Qinghai-Tibet GeologicalSurveying, Geologist MENG Xian-lai, Director of China Geological Survey, said thatthe Qinghai-Tibet Plateau Geological Surveying has achieved a series of fruits mainlyin the following four aspects: basic geological surveying research; important mineralresources exploration; searching for fresh water, disaster alleviation and proof;investigating and monitoring crustal stability for the construction of Qinghai-TibetRailway.
