The Predicament of Traditional English Literary Studies:Scattered Speculations on Postcolonial Literary Studies

在西方当代批评语境中,以雷蒙.威廉斯为旗手的英国新左派文化研究率先批判传统的英国文学研究。后殖民文学研究从文学与殖民主义的关系入手,更激进地揭露英国文学研究隐含的文化霸权及其与殖民权力的关系,形成以后殖民文学经典化、后殖民诗学、后殖民文本政治理论为主的后殖民文学研究范式。

In the context of contemporary literary studies, English New Left cultural studies heralded by Raymond Williams first launched the critiquing of traditional English literary studies. Postcolonial literary studies was more radically committed to exposing the latent cultural hegemony of traditional English literary studies and its relationship with colonial power by analyzing the relationship of English literature with colonialism. This introduced the paradigm of postcolonial literary studies purported by the canonization of postcolonial literature, postcolonial poetics and textual politics.
