摘要
本文旨在探讨英国传统作家和现代主义作家的人物观及小说人物转型的原因。文章不仅论述了20世纪初传统小说人物所面临的严重危机,而且揭示了现代主义小说人物的显著特征。
This paper is intended to explore both the traditionalist and the modernist＇s concept of the character and trace the causes of its transformation in modem British fiction. The paper not only examines the serious crises of the conventional character at the beginning of the 20th century, but also discusses the distinguishing features of the character in modernist fiction.
