论现代大学的社会责任

Social Responsibilities of Modern Universities

大学从游离于社会之外到处于社会边缘,最终走向社会中心,与经济社会的关系日益紧密,走过了适应社会→为社会服务→引导、预测社会未来这样一个由被动到主动的过程。大学的社会责任已成为其现实使命,也成为其与社会联系的纽带。现代大学的社会责任主要包括:知识创新的集散地;国家建设的人才库;时代风尚的引领者和构建和谐社会的调音师。大学应该通过传授知识、创新知识,发现人才、培育人才,批判现实、开创风气,融合社会、协调人与自然的关系等职能的实现向社会负责和向历史负责。

From the outside to the periphery and then to the center of society, universities have seen an increasingly closer relationship with economic society. And meanwhile, universities have gone through a passivity-to-activeness process in which adaptation to society was replaced by serving society and further by leading and predicting social development. Social responsibilities of modern universities, as both their mission and their link with society, are believed to include： knowledge innovation and distribution, talent cultivation, pace-setting in social life, and building of a harmonious society. Universities must take their social and historical responsibilities earnestly by increasing knowledge, training talents, fighting against social evils, and harmonize the relationship between man and nature.
