论胡凤丹及其对湖北文化的贡献

HU Feng- dan and His Contribution to Hubei Culture

胡凤丹对湖北地方文化的贡献表现在三方面:一、总领书局,刊刻图书,普及文化;二、走访古迹,搜罗旧文,撰成三种山水志:《大别山志》、《黄鹄山志》、《鹦鹉洲小志》;三、与过往武昌的文人墨客宴游唱和并汇成《鄂渚同声集》,为清末的武汉文坛留下了珍贵的文献资料。

Hu Fengdan, people of Yongkang of Zhejiang, a famous printing blocks-carver and book-collector at the end of Qing Dynasty. During the 12-year official visits of Hubei, he has made very great contribution to the local culture of Hubei, in three aspects： First, he always led the publishing house to carve printing blocks and popularized the culture; second, he visited historical sites to collect old articles, and then wilted 3 kinds of Mountains ＆ Rivers annals（山水志） in Wuhan district：“Annals of Dabie Mountain” （《大别山志》）, “Annals of Huanghu Mountain” （《黄鹄山志》）,“Annals of Yingwuzhou” （《鄂渚同声集》）; third, he together with literature men of Wuehang collected articles to form the the “Collected Works of Ezhu”（ 《鄂渚同声集》）, leaving the precious documents and materials for the literary world in Wuhan at the end of Qing Dynasty.
