党的先进性建设是我们党生存、发展、壮大的根本性建设。保持党的先进性是党的建设的本质内涵。着重从思想上建党,经常性的思想教育和适当的集中教育活动相结合,是中国共产党进行共产党员先进性教育的成功经验和优良传统。当前开展的保持共产党员先进性教育活动是我们党的成功经验和优良传统在新的历史条件下的运用和发展。共产党员先进性教育活动的实质是理解和践行“三个代表”。

The construction of the Party＇s vanguard character is essential to CPC. This scientific concept covers the connotation of building the CPC more accurately. The education of the CPC members＇ vanguard character is the basic and important part of the construction of the Party＇s vanguard character. This education is the application and development of our Party＇s experience and tradition under new historical conditions, the essence of which is the understanding and practice of “three- represents”.
