This paper proposes a scheme to design the system development of the real-time transmission system of traffic flow information based on GIS. This system can describe exactly the special characteristic and hiberarchy characteristic of traffic flow management, realize visualization management and transmit rapidly traffic flow information. By application it shows that the system can provide exact and efficient traffic flow information.
