John Steinbeck＇s artistic skills came to mature in 1930s and his masterpieces came out one after another. Trilogy of migrant peasant workers truthfully reflects the American society during the Great Depression and the miserable lives of the mass underdogs. It shows that Steinbeck wrote uniquely about American history of that period and cared deeply for people in trouble. He illustrated the dreams and desires of the peasant workers and the great contrast between dreams and reality.
