Lu Xun's Comprehension and Acceptance of Western Expressionist Art

Lu Xun paid much attention to and took a great interest in western expressionist art. He had read many expressionist works before he wrote his fiction, essays and verses characterized by expressionism. His contact with and acceptance of expressionism came from the five works in Japanese he translated. In his daily life, Lu Xun expressed great admiration of expressionist art and his appreciation of realism does not negate his admiration of expressionist art.
