Physical Properties of Speech Sounds and Their Perception

中国人和日本人对同一音段有不同的感知。即使同为日本人,对语音的感知也不能用物理量去衡量。文章利用声学、语音学手段,通过对元音、辅音、词调的具体表现,论证人们对语音的物理表现和心理感知上存在的差异。

The Chinese and the Japanese have different perceptions of a phonological segment. Even among the Japanese, it is impossible to measure their perception of speech sounds in terms of physical quantity. Through examining some specific vowels, consonants and accents by means of acoustic phonetics, the present paper aims to elaborate the differencesthat exist in people＇s perception of physical properties of speech sounds.
