多元翻译标准系统的最低标准——兼析汉英翻译中的中式英语

The Lowest Criterion of the Multi-Criterion of Franslation System——Chinglish in Chinese-English Translation

翻译的“多元标准”已被广泛接受,但笔者认为,“多元”应有一个最低标准为基础:忠实于目标语言的语法规则。当前,翻译作品中存在大量典型的不符合英语语法的中式英语,极大影响了对我国的对外交流,在词汇、句子/词组和语篇三个层次都有体现。笔者认为,原因主要是没有充分考虑英语作为形合语言和汉语作为意合语言各自的不同点而没有忠实于英语的语法规则,并提出最根本的解决方法是多接触英语,多用英语的思维方式和表达方式。

“plural criteria” for translation is widely accepted nowadays. But the author is convinced that there should be some lowest criteria, one of which is conformity with the grammar of the target language. However,there is a lot of Chinglish in today＇s translations on the word, sentence/phrase and text levels. It＇s mainly because of the translators＇ ignorance of the differences between English as a hypotaxis and Chinese as a parataxis. After analyzing the solutions to Chinglish on each level, the author claims that one can translate Chinese into accurate and natural English only by using more English and thinking in English and translate with the guide of this elementary criterion.
