On the New Economic Cycle and its Strategic Opportunity Period

当前宏观经济形势的总体特点是经济快速、平稳、持续发展,这在建国以后还是第一次,表明中国在21世纪初一个相当长时期内面临着千载难逢的重要战略机遇期。而抓住战略机遇期需要采取的基本措施是加强和改善宏观经济调控。

The general characteristics of current macroeconomic situation is the quick, stable and continuous economic development, and this is the first time since the foundation of our country. This indicates that China faces an important strategic opportunity period which occurs only once in a thousand years during the relatively long period at the beginning of 21st Century. And the fundamental measure which we should adopt in order to catch the strategic opportunity period is strengthening and improving macroeconomic adiustment and control.
