The formula for accurate calculation on the theoretical value of elongation for the post-tensioning prestressing steel has been derived from the principle of prestress losses due to friction. As a result,it can improve considerably the accuracy of calculation on it in the way of the Technical Specifications for Construction of Highway Bridges and Culverts（JTJ041-2000）,thus to provide an important theoretical basis for carrying out the accurate,reliable calculation on prestressing forces.
