Synechogobius ommaturus is one of the well-known neritic fishes. Based on the fishery investigations in the region of the Huanghe delta, the ecological distribution, catch composition, reproduction habit, diet composition and migratory behaviors of this fish are briefly described. The prevent paper also discusses the status and function of Synechogobius ommaturu in the Huanghe delta fishery and ecosystem, and the prospect of a sustainable fishery.
