Relationship Between Examination-oriented Education and Quality-oriented Education

应试教育是在特殊历史条件下产生的一种淘汰选拔教育模式,它片面追求升学率。而素质教育是以全面提高全体学生素质来指导学校教育工作的一种新型教育模式,后者具有对前者批评继承的关系,是当前我国教育改革和发展的方向。

Examination-oriented education, emerging as an elimination-selection educational mode in certain historical conditions, overstates the importance of enrollment rate. However, quality-oriented education, as a new educational mode guided by the principle of the all-round development of all the students, based on the criticism and inheritation of the former, meets the requirements of the educational reform and development of the nation.
