徐偃王与台州徐偃王城考

An Investigation of Xu Yan Wang and the City of Xu Yan Wang in Taizhou

徐国原是商代的一个小诸侯国,西周中期才渐渐强大,在洪泽湖边上建立了大徐城,到徐偃王时开始称王,曾联合淮夷三十六国反周。春秋中期,公元前512元被吴国所灭。灭国后,徐国后裔打着“徐偃王”的旗号,流亡到浙江各地,在台州黄岩建立了“徐偃王”城,把中原文化输入浙东南沿海。

It was in the mid Western Zhou Dynasty that Xu kingdom, once a small feudal state of the Shang Dynasty, became progressively more powerful and established Da Xu City by the Hong Ze lake. Duke Xu crowned himself as Xu Yan Wang leading his kingdom, together with the periphery thirty - six, to attack Zhou. In the mid Spring and Autumn Period, to be exact, 512B. C. , the Xu kingdom was finally eliminated by Wu Kingdom. The descendents of Xu kingdom＇s exiled into every parts of Zhejiang Province still flaunting the banner of “Xu Yan Wang”. They founded the city of Xu Yan Wang in Huangyan, Taizhou, which helped bring the civilization of Central Plains to the southeast coast of Zhejiang.
