Orientation of Regional Universities

地方综合性普通高校把培养应用型技术人才和服务社会作为自己的办学方向,拔高层次会力不从心,降格以求也会浪费资源。培养职业技能,教会操作方法,这是人才培养的最基本要求。问题是学生学习的不仅仅是操作之“术”,还有视野、眼光和思维方式。只有进入这一层次,普通高校才有可能区别于职业技术学院,才能拥有自身的办学特色,才能培养富有创造精神和发展后劲的技术人才,培养“专业的人、文化的人和世界的人”。

Oriented towards training competency- based technical talents and serving communities, regional universities either fall short of expectations and wishes if upgraded, or waste resources if degraded. It is the basic requirements for talent -training to cultivate vocational skills and master operational ways. What university students learn is not only the operational skills, but also the visual field, insight, and modes of thinking. Only when reaching this level can regular colleges and universities distinguish themselves from vocational and technical colleges, possess their own unique features, foster innovative and sustainable technical talents, and cultivate “qualified personnel with professionalism, of culture, and of the world”.
