摘要
在生产实践中,常常需要评定种子的质量,这就牵涉到种子的年产度和种子的活力问题。一般地,新收获的种子活力较高,而贮藏时间长的陈种子由于劣变程度大,活力较低。因此,鉴定种子的新老程度或年产度,实际上是测定种子的活力。种子在萌发早期放出挥发性醛的量与种子的活力有关,应用3—甲基—2—苯骈噻唑(3—Methy1-2-benzothiazolonehydrazone)试法测定种子的挥发性醛量,被认为是一种简易、快速、实用的测定种子活力的方法。
The 3-Methyl-2-benzothiazolone hydrazone (MBTH) test is a rapid,simple and highly predictive seed age and vigour test that bases on volatile aldehyde compou- nds (VACs) evolution from germinating seeds. More VACs are produced by peanut,soybean,sesame,mung bean and kenaf hibiscus seeds of low vigour than that of highly vigorous seeds.Aldehydes produ- ced early during germination were hyghly correlated with seed age and vigour.For example,VAC production was 9-fold higher in 1985 than in 1987 sesame seed lots and13-fold greater in low than in high vigour peanut seed lots.The peak period of VAC pruduction is different in different kind of seed.More VACs are produced by soybean and mung bean seeds during the first 24 hours of germination than du- ring the second 24 hour period,however,the peak period of VAC production em- erges in peanut seeds during the second hours of germination.The VAC pruduction increased with an increase of artifically aged days.VAC produotion was 9-fold higher in aged for 5 days than in unaged peanut seed lots.
