Analysis of the Foundation of Jin-Cha-Ji Base Area in the Anti-Japanese War

创建晋察冀抗日根据地是中国共产党根据形势发展需要做出的英明决策。晋察冀地区历史悠久,战略地位非常重要,有良好的群众基础。聂荣臻领导八路军第一一五师一部在此建立了晋察冀军区和抗日民主统一战线性质的政权,在对日伪军的艰苦作战中,不断扩大和发展了解放区,使晋察冀抗日根据地成为敌后模范的抗日根据地及统一战线的模范区。为坚持华北抗战和争取全国抗日战争的胜利做出了重要贡献。

To establish the Jin-Cha-Ji （Shanxi-Chaha＇er-Hebei） Anti-Japanese Base Area was a great decision made by the Communist Party of China according to the then situation behind the enemy lines. This base area enjoyed ready preparedness, an important military strategic position, and a solid mass foundation. NIE Rong-zhen, who led the First Unit of the Division 115 of the Eighth Route Army, established the Jin-Cha-Ji military region and the political power of the anti-Japanese democratic united front. This military region was then greatly broadened and developed into a liberated area, thus making the Jin-Cha-Ji Base Area a model anti-Japanese base behind the enemy lines and a model area of the united front. It contributed a great deal to the resistance against Japanese aggression in north China and to the final victory of Chinese people in the war.
