Exploration of the Compatability between Market Economy and Public Ownership

社会主义市场经济是公有制为主体的市场经济,建立社会主义市场经济体制的关键是实现公有制与市场经济的兼容。市场经济与公有制不是对立的,它们的兼容具有深厚的客观基础,要按照市场经济的基本要求来改革公有制经济,按照公有制经济的基本要求建立市场经济体制,不断协调两者之间的矛盾,就完全能够实现公有制与市场经济的有机兼容。

The foundation of socialist market economy is public ownership, and the key to successfully setting up socialist market economy lies in materializing the combination of public ownership with market economics. Market economy and public ownership are not opposed to each other, and there exists solid objective basis between them. In oder to materialize the organic integration of public ownership with market economy, we should reform pub- lie ownership economy in terms of market economy＇s basic demand and set up the market economic system aeeording to the basic requirments of public ownership.
