Dance and music belong to two quite different kinds of artistic qualities of the same artistic categories. This paper analyses the functional differences and the same basis between dance and music and deals with such problems as emotional expression of music and rhythmical feature, the synchronous and unsynchronous relationship between dance and music and the driving nature of musical art to dance creation. Besides it probes into the feeling range of sense of hearing in dance aesthetics and musical structure of dance. It is thought that only dance music holds on to its streamlined structure as musical work can it provide dance with music of high quality.
