通过分析国内外城市公共交通发展历史,论述了城市快速公共交通系统在城市交通中的重要性,在此基础上提出快速公共交通的发展目标、工作目标及评价指标,同时对研究城市快速公共交通提出相应的原则和技术方法。

Through analyzing the developing history of urban public transit at home and abroad, the paper states the importance of urban express public transit system in urban traffic. On this basis the paper puts forward the developing objective, working objective and evaluation target of express public transit. At the same time, the paper puts forward the corresponding principle and technical method for studying on urban express public transit.
