Earth Sound before Historical Strong Earthquakes in Lingqiu Basin

山西灵丘《重修邓峰寺碑记》是在山西发现的唯一一通记载地震前成功预告并取得实效的古代碑刻。经研究,碑记中高僧所预告的地震事件可能远在北魏时期。对灵丘附近地区的历史地震研究发现,这一带强震前地声发育,根据这一特点,建议在灵丘盆地西段设立地声前兆观测实验点,以探索当地地震短临预报的可能性。

“Recordation for re-fix up tablet at Dengfeng temple” of Lingqiu is only ancient carved literal on the tablet, found in Shanxi, which gave a preannouncement successfully before the earthquake and put it into effectiveness. The study result indicate that the earthquake predicted by some high rank monk might occurred in Beiwei dynasty. It is found , based on study on historical earthquakes in area around Lingqiu, that earth sound usually occurred before an earthquake in this area. Based on this feature, it is proposed to set up some observation points in the west part of Lingqiu Basin to detecting earth sound as the precursor, trying to find some feasible ways for short-term or impending earthquake predicting for this area.
