For the leaders of a new regime the most important and sensitive national interests undoubtedly rest with the national security. After the breakout of the Korean War, with the involvement of the United States and the growing escalation of the war the Chinese leaders gradually lost their sense of security and felt more and more insecure; and finally they made the decision to resist U.S. aggression and aid Korea. Considering the Chinese leaders' perception of the security of their country and their possible approach to this matter, it was very reasonable for China to make the decision to send troops to Korea.
