近一个时期以来,在美国甚嚣尘上“中国威胁”论并非只是基于意识形态的偏见或者多数美国人对中国问题缺乏了解,而是美国对“中国崛起”的一种必然反应。“中国崛起”及随之而来的美国的“中国威胁意象”,既与美国在当今国际体系中独特的地位有关,也同美国在中国问题上传统所坚持的“价值、利益和政治”所驱动的政策需要紧密相联。这种“意象”与美国的意识形态因素关系较少,而更多地与美国在国际权力结构中的地位相关联。

Recently, the theme of “China Threat” is growing in the United States. It is not only a matter of ideological bias or the result of a lack of understanding of the China-related issues among the majority of Americans. It is also an inevitable response of the United States to the “rise of China” . The “rise of China” and the subsequent image of China being a threat' are not only related to the unique position of the United States in the current international system, but also closely linked to traditional American policy toward China, motivated by its “value, interest, and politics.” Such an image is related less to the American ideological factor and more to the position of the United States in the international power structure.
