In USA, more and more university-industry research centers have been established and industry have moved away from basic research. Federal and state governments set up more policies to support R＆D. Research universities fulfill many kinds of roles, such as technology transfer and licensing, venture capital function, and promoting communication among all kinds of stakeholders.
