Study on Information Integration Mechanism on the Web

根据Web信息环境特点以及用户需求的变化,将Web信息整合分为4种类型,即面向学科导航服务的Web信息整合、面向集中检索服务的Web信息整合、面向分布式服务的Web信息整合、面向个性化服务的Web信息整合。重点讨论每种整合机制的特点、实现方式及相互关系,并对如何选择整合机制提出建议。

Based on the characteristics of information environment and user demands, this paper puts forward four information integration mechanisms on the Web, namely, subject-oriented navigation, centralized retrieval, distributed service, customized service. In the paper, an emphasis is put on the discussion of features and methods of each mechanism. Finally, relations among mechanisms are analyzed, and some advice is given on the mechanism selection.
