According to experts＇knowledge and experience, the paper adopts the method of case based reasoning to make up a reasoning mechanism for diesel engine maintenance. Then, a reasoning system is set up, which can work out diesel engine maintenance plan rapidly. Finally a fault example is given to validate this system.
