Southwest Missouri State University recognizes teaching as its first obligation. To increase the opportunities for the continued professional development of the faculty, and thereby ensure educational quality and promote vigorous teaching and other academic activities, SMSU allocates money and time to assist the faculty members in discharging their professional responsibilities.
