Yu Guangzhong is not only an outstanding writer, but also an excellent translator. He has groped after a series of distinctive viewpoints on translation by long-term personal practice in translating and translation teaching. In his opinion, translation is a kind of finite creation, is a versatile art, and both form and meaning of the original should be considered to. A translator himself should not only have the knowledge as a scholar, but also have the inspiration as a writer. An excellent translation teacher,however, ought to deal with plenty of translating practice. This thesis holds a superficial discussion about Mr Yu＇s viewpoints mentioned above.
